TEN REASONS TO ADOPT AN OLDER CAT
#10. A kitten is only a kitten for a short period of time.
#9. People think they can get a kitten and "train" it to fit a particular mental picture. Each cat, even kittens, has a unique personality. When you adopt an adult cat, what you see is what you get.
#8. Older cats don't climb your curtains, run the Indy 500 in the middle of the night, and know not to use your leg as a scratching post.
#7. Kittens require constant supervision - adult cats don't.
#6. Older cats have a well-developed immune system and stronger stomach tolerance with fewer upsets.
#5. Adult cats are much more affectionate. The older they get the more lap time they want.
#4. Older cats adjust better to new surroundings - been there, done that!
#3. Adult cats adjust to the other cats or dogs you already have. Plus, you already are told if they get along with other pets).
#2. Older cats are already litterbox trained - no surprises!
and the
#1 reason to adopt an adult cat is....
Most people want kittens. We don't generally have a lot of kittens because people always keep kittens and don't give them up until they are adults. Young adult, middle-aged and older cats can be so loving, appreciative and laid-back...afterall, YOU have selected him/her!
(KITTENS LOVE ANYONE)
Yes, some adult cats come with emotional baggage, be it a result of abuse or the loss of the only family they've ever known. But, after getting used to the new home and finding out from YOU that YOU will love, honor and obey them forever, an adult cat will gratefully settle in to his/her new home and family, bestowing on you endless love, affection and companionship.
WHAT CAN POSSIBLY BE BETTER THAN THAT?
